Photography lesson with JWJ...

Captain Johnson and I share a love for photos...only he actually knows what he is doing with his DSLR. Fortunately, he shares tips with me and even gave me a mini lesson on the manual settings. Here are some photos from our trip to the Capitol Market...

Maybe one day I'll understand aperture, ISO, and shutter speed...

Spring fever.

After a long, bitter cold winter, we are finally seeing signs of springtime. Although I love the snow, the short days and dreary weather really depress me. The days are getting longer and the temperatures are getting warmer and I could not be more ready! And by the time we move, there will be summer-like weather in Atlanta. Kaitlin had some fun playing outside with the dogs...

Waving hello to the neighbor (I thought my flash was on...but it obviously was not).
Watching the dogs run around.
Sweet face.
There's my happy girl!

More kitchen fun.

Kaitlin loves anything related to the kitchen...bowls, measuring cups, spoons, tupperware, etc. She entertains herself greatly while we are in the kitchen. She also loves to chase the dogs who don't really know what to think of her now that she is crawling around. Mostly they run from her, unless she is eating!

Puppy love.

Kaitlin just loves Maddie. BJ says its because she reminds her of a cartoon character. Maddie is a little unsure of Kaitlin now that she is crawling around, but she is still very sweet with her.

Almost a year old...11 months.

Oh my goodness. How has it been almost a year since this wonderful doll baby entered our lives? This time last year I was so nervous to meet our sweet girl. Fortunately, motherhood came much more naturally than I ever would have expected. Oh miss Kaitlin, how you have changed my life...I love you more and more each day. Here is what our little buggy has been up to lately~

* Crawling across the house like a lightening bolt.
* Pulling herself up on EVERYTHING.

* Standing with no hands...uh oh.

* Scooting around the couch...double uh oh.

* Understanding what "no" means, but testing our limits.
* Loving anything that makes a banging noise.

* Laughing hysterically when I tickle her.

* Saying mama over and over ;) this is also her favorite word when she is upset. oh my.

* Crawling onto mommy's lap when she is tired....my favorite thing ever.

* Sleeping like a perfect angel...after a rough patch of not sleeping, I am grateful she is back to normal.

* Eating pretty well....she eats mostly anything we give her, but is sometimes picky.

* Drinking bottles from a sippy cup...woohoo! I was so worried about weaning from the bottle, but I don't think it will be a problem at all.

* Outgrowing some of her 9 month clothes :( ...but not dresses and pjs :)

* Jumping up and down when she gets excited.
* Clapping.

* Talking baby sentences.
* Taking in everything.
* Crawling up my legs.

She is a busy bee and keeps us on our toes! She can always put a smile on my face. And there are times when she only wants mommy...makes my heart melt.

South Bound.

Back to the big city...
But this time, it will be a little different as we are moving to the suburb of Marietta...can we say desperate housewife?

I have zero time right now to "blog." But its been awhile, so I thought I would give a brief update. Our BIG move is a month away and we are beyond BUSY getting prepared both physically and mentally. Its so overwelming and still doesn't feel real. It will be bittersweet, but we are excited for what the future holds. However, West Virginia will always be "home."
