First Month

At her one month check-up she was already weighing 9 lbs and 6 oz! She had also grown an inch, measuring 21 inches. She is perfectly healthy. Because she had a "tramatic birth," as they called it in the hospital...there were some initial health concerns. She had low blood sugar that had me worried for the first 24 hours and a heart murmor that has disappeared. Also, despite her difficult journey into the world she came out looking just perfect. Minus a scar from the "failed forceps", there was not a mark on her! And the scar is hidden by her hair and will fade with time. She certainly has no problem eating! The nurses at the hospital said they have never seen a newborn "latch on" as easily as she did. She also has been so alert since day one and is very strong.

These are some of my favorites from her first month of life. I will always treasure this time. Although I was not feeling so hot and completely sleep deprived, I would re-live those first few days over and over. Its hard to explain, but there is nothing like it.
